About the International Training Centre
The International Training Centre is located in Nairobi at the Marie Stopes Eastleigh nursing home.
Formally opened in April 2007, The International Training Centre provides a much needed venue for training health care providers in reproductive health (RH) skills for use in emergency humanitarian situation. The training centre offers health professionals an opportunity to develop and update their skills in a top quality environment thus enabling them to provide critical RH services upon their return to their work places.
What we do best
We run fun, practical and inspiring training taking the competency approach to a whole new level.
Our training modules have been developed by trainers who have a wide experience in the field of reproductive health which makes our courses a “field for the field” experience . Our clinical training courses are competency based and require active involvement by all participants. We employ the mastery learning approach and believe that every participant will master the necessary knowledge and skills if given sufficient time and appropriate learning methods
Courses offered
We offer courses in English and French and are currently on course to offer all courses in Arabic as well.
We offer training in:
- Pregnancy crisis counseling and post abortion care.
- Emergency obstetrics and new born care
- Gender based violence
- Infection prevention
- STI/HIV/AIDS
- Adolescent sexual reproductive health
- Cervical cancer screening prevention and treatment
